NEW Editions of Etchings by Jack Beal

At various times throughout his career, Jack Beal has developed works as intaglio prints. These pieces retain the hallmarks of his other works: bold compositional design, complex arrangements of pictorial space, and detailed rendering of texture and pattern. Additionally, they present an exquisite understanding of line, strong value structure, and a rich monochromatic palette unique to the intaglio medium.

These eleven copper plate etchings, some with aquatint, were all originally developed by Jack in the mid-1960s and in the early 1980s. They were never editioned at that time. In 2004, Roger Bailey, of the Senefelder Club of the North Country in Canton, New York, cleaned and proofed the plates. Jack made some minor adjustments to several images and the plates with aquatint were steel-faced to preserve their integrity. Bailey then pulled editions of 30 to 50 prints from each plate during the fall of 2004 and the spring of 2005, and Jack selected and signed the editions in late spring of 2005.

Editions of these eleven etchings by Jack Beal are now available for purchase and for exhibition. For further information contact Roger Bailey by email: baileyhaldane@msn.com
