Pond Intaglio Print: Line Etching on Copper Plate, 7.875 in. by 9.875 in., 1980.

"Pond" was known as "California Fence Gate" throughout the processing and proofing stages. The image is a composite of the farm landscape just south of Oneonta, NY where Jack Beal and Sondra Freckelton live and work, and a drawing of a fence and gate that Jack had done earlier in California. This fence and gate also were used in a 1993 lithograph that Jack made, titled "Holstein and Burdock."
