The Dark Pool Intaglio Print: Line Etching and Aquatint on Copper Plate, 8.85 in. by 11.85 in., 1980. |
The Dark Pool refers to a special place on the Jack Beal/Sondra Freckelton farm where the creek runs into deep woods. Jack includes an image of himself fly-fishing for trout, looking back into the light. Earlier in 1980 Jack had made a large (40 in. x 60 in.) pastel drawing of this scene. Jennifer Melby's aquatint work is superb. The plate for this etching was steel-faced by Orlando Condezo at Spring Press in NYC in July, 2004. |
